Detecting Ovulation for a Successful Conception

The joys and the roller-coaster experience of being parents is something most people dream of. While others are abundantly fertile that they’ve had to suppress ovulation, some women are not as fortunate. To achieve pregnancy, they go through various treatments from medical prescriptions to non-traditional methods that involve conjuring healing energy and whatnots.

Body chemistry is different for each female with factors like stress and career to weaken reproductive abilities increasing the risk of infertility. Doctors give us various reasons why some women who even at their prime have difficulty conceiving. Irregularly shaped uterus, blocked fallopian tubes, unable to ovulate and weak eggs are some of the medical reasons.

Medical breakthroughs have given parent-wannabes hope. But the first thing that doctors recommend to do is to coincide or plan copulating during ovulation period. Couples have a small window of opportunity of 24 hours each month as their best chance to get pregnant. There are many ways to predict and even detect it. By calendar-marking the 7-day menstrual period, couples can keep a watch out for physical signs around 14-20 days from the beginning of the menstrual week:

– Pay close attention to any small cramping of the lower abdominal area.
– Body basal temperature (BBT) is the baseline heat of your body when you wake up in the morning. The surge in progesterone or the chemical that increases the body temperature when ovulating will dominate. When a dramatic change of half a degree occurs, it means that your uterus has an implantable egg ready.
– A production of thin, clear cervical mucus occurs just before the peak of ovulation. This liquid activates the ovulation testing sticks (OTK) that women just need to pee on. Just like a pregnancy test kid, there are OTKs readily available in pharmacies. Other human fluids just as helpful are women’s saliva and sweat which are both applied on OTKs. Hormonal surges that happen on pre-ovulation create oddities in the saliva and sweat that OTKs can easily detect. A four-day allowance from these occurrences gives couples time to plan for a romantic night.

Watching out for these signs can sometimes put pressure to one or both individuals because co-creation will feel more like a task rather than a pleasurable experience. Fertility experts then advise that a stress-free environment is always a good start to initiate baby-making. This is makes a perfect reason to go on another honeymoon.
