He checked out my eyes and confirmed I was a candidate and scheduled me for the next Wednesday for surgery! I was really excited because I am a spur of the moment person so I needed to be able to just jump into it! Well, that was the longest week ever. But when Wednesday came, I was so ready!
I went to the surgical center and they did a few tests, prepped me, gave me some fun drugs to calm me down, and then it happened! It was so quick! They numbed my eyes and then went to work. There was no pain at all. It was all over in about 7 minutes and I really didn't think I would be okay because I am a very claustrophobic person, but I didn't feel trapped or anything.
As soon as I was done, the doctor had me sit up and tell him the time and I could actually see! It was foggy, but I could see way better than before. My vision was about a -3.00 in both eyes prior so I was technically legally blind since I couldn't even read the big E on the chart. But I could read the time after the surgery! Amazing!
The doctor checked my eyes, said I was good to go and I was on my way home (Kyle drove of course!). I slept on the ride home and then for a few more hours when I got home and then woke up for a little bit and could see almost perfectly. There was a little bit of a blur but nothing major. I actually watched a short tv show and could see everything.
The next few days my vision changed a bit. The blur went from eye to eye but nothing different from when my contacts would get dry. Now a week and a half later and I still get a little bit of a blur randomly when my eyes are dry, but overall, I have 20/20 vision! I love it!
I will say that it is taking some getting used to dealing with the blur because, when my contacts would get dry, I would take them out and put on my glasses and I can't do that now. But it is the same when going to bed. I feel like it is really weird to not have to take out my contacts to sleep. I guess about 16 years reversed will take some getting used to. But overall, I am extremely happy with my Lasik and would do it all over again in a heart beat! It is amazing and I highly recommend it to anyone thinking about it.Feel free to ask me questions! :)
And just for fun...here are my eyes after the surgery! LOL

YIKES ... I don't think I could do it - I'm fortunate to still have great sight though. And I know what you mean about the Groupon stuff - the ones here are always on the other side of the city!
I have been debating getting Lasik done. I want to get it done one eye at a time. You know, just in case they mess up. :) I would love to be able to wake up in the middle of the night and see without having to reach for my glasses.
