Jamberry Nail Shields Are Manicure Quality At Home! *Review & Giveaway*

Before I had children, I used to get my nails done every two weeks. It was such a nice feeling to feel pretty. Unfortunately, once I had children, nail salons weren't really in my price range for that often and I also just didn't have time. So I resorted to nail polish. However, I am super lazy so when they started chipping withing a few days, I just let them keep going. I can honestly say, my nails normally turn out to be whatever color I can find and they stay that way until I have the time and patience to redo them. However, thanks to Noel Giger, Independent Jamberry Nails Consultant, I did recently find a way to have my nails look nice without going to the salon with Jamberry Nail shields!

Jamberry Nail shields were created to brighten your day in a simple way! When you wear these Nail Shields, you will not only feel great, but you will get tons of compliments on them! I know I do! They are easy to apply and you can choose from so many different looks by mixing and matching. You will be able to achieve that high-end salon look in the convenience of your own home!

I decided to try out Jamberry Nail shields in Mulberry Flower on Tangerine because pink and orange are two of my favorite colors, plus the flowers are adorable and fun! Now, these are different then any of the nail products that I have tried. They are thicker and better quality. Here are the application instructions that were included with my nail shields:

Jamberry Nail Shields are designed to be easily applied in a salon or at home.
Step 1: Clean nails with nail polish remover or alcohol. (Clean, oil free nails are one of the most important steps of the application)
Step 2: Cut and file nails to desired length and shape.
Step 3: Buff top of the nail and push back cuticle.
Step 4: Match nail (finger or toe) to the nail shield that best fits.
Step 5: Peel off nail shield and warm with a blow-dryer 10-15 seconds or until soft and flexible.
Step 6: When warm, press the shield onto the nail.  Apply firm pressure around edges to adhere the shield to the nail.  Use rubber cuticle pusher to seal the shield around the cuticle.
Step 7:  Trim the top with scissors and file off remaining shield using a downward motion to remove excess.
Step 8: Apply heat and pressure to the shield again until it is sealed to the nail. (Repeating this step several times helps create a tight seal to the nail surface and increases wear time)
Optional  Step 9: For active users you can add a small amount of nail glue to the free edge to better seal the nail shield.
How to remove:
There are 2 removal options for Jamberry Nail Shields. For Nail Shields that have been worn for more than 10 days we recommend following the Gentle Removal Process.
Quick Removal Process: Heat the shields with a blowdryer for 15 seconds. Then break the seal by getting under the edge of the shield with your opposite thumb nail. Slowly peel the shield from side to side. If the Nail Shields are not peeling easily or the adhesive is still bonded to the nail bed then follow the Gentle Removal Process.

Gentle Removal Process: Soak the Nail Shields in nail polish remover for 20-30 seconds and gently rub them off. Soaking will break down the adhesive bond and allow them to easily slide of the nail bed.
Jamberry Nail Shields after about 5 days
Now, I did do one thing different. I found that because I have really short nails (guilty of nail biting), filing down didn't really work. So, I simply used nail clippers to clip off a tiny bit of nail so that the nail and nail shield were the same length. Then I did file down just to make sure that the shield would not peel up. Another great thing that I loved, is that I had enough nail shields for my hands three times over! I also did my big toe nail on each foot. This left me with nail shields for a second hand application and I think I may be able to get a third as well! Talk about getting your money's worth!

My Jamberry Nail Shields stayed on for 8 days with only one issue. My middle finger nail shield was a little too wide because I didn't cut it enough, and it did bubble and start to peel, but that was my own fault so I just cut a new one and fixed it! So, around day 8, I noticed that a few started peeling up. I took them off and it was so easy. I didn't need to soak them or heat them up, I just peeled them and they came off with no problem. 8 days was great because I was swimming almost everyday and I was my hands a lot! I did notice that after rubbing bug spray and sunscreen on the kids, they nail shields had a bit of a sticky feel to them for a few hours, but that did wind up going away. I'm not sure why they got sticky, and I tried rubbing alcohol, but only time fixed the problem. I peeled the ones on my fingers off about 7 days ago but the ones on my toes look brand new! No problem with those at all!

Overall, I love the Jamberry Nail Shields! They are great and make me feel amazing! My nails look professionally done and everyone was asking where I got them done and couldn't believe that I did them myself! What I loved the most is that my thin, brittle nails didn't peel or chip at all and they actually felt stronger after I took the nail shields off. This is proof that your nails can look great without doing damage to them. They did take a little time to apply the first time because I wanted to make sure I did it right, but it was so worth it and I will continue to use Jamberry Nail Shields! I actually want to get the bright whimsical swirls because I love funky designs!

Jamberry Nail Shields are only $15 per sheet and each sheet of Nail Shields will do 2-3 sets of fingers or toes! So, for the price of a manicure, you can get 2 to 3 manicures in your own home if you do them yourself and follow up with Jamberry Nail Shields!
