My child’s individual sense of style! #jcpback2school

Back to school season is here and I always loved gong clothes shopping when I was younger and in school! While Riley and Emma aren't going to school yet, I love the sales that are going on for back to school so it is always nice to grab up some new stylish clothes for the kids. Riley always loves picking out his own clothes so when I take him with me, he get's so excited! I would much rather him go crazy over which new clothes he wants rather then new toys! But I'm sure that is every parents dream!

Now it might sound weird and you might be wondering how a three year old has a sense of style, but it can happen and has with Riley! He has this addiction to different fun colored shorts. The other day we were shopping at this one section that had shorts on clearance so I let him pick out a few pairs for next year and he only wanted the blue and green ones. There were so many colors but he insisted that he didn't want any except for those two colors! While I'm guessing this will change over the years, it's fun to see how a young child makes their own fashion up.

Riley isn't the only one that enjoys picking out his own clothes! Emma is right up there with him and is only 1! She lovespretty dresses! Her favorite dresses are ones with lots of pretty flowers on them. And she also prefers shirts with monkeys. She has a monkey lovey that she always carries around so when I put a monkey shirt on her, she goes crazy! She also has a shoe obsession! I can only imagine how bad it will be when she goes to school! She only has three pairs right now but always loves wearing a different pair each day and loves to just wear them around the house!

This just goes to show that fashion sense starts really early and you should always let your child pick their clothes. I think the only thing you have to watch with the clothes choices is whether they are appropriate. But as long as they are decent, I see nothing wrong with letting your child go out in clothes they chose. They will feel more comfortable and will be so proud that they got to choose them!
