Just like the title says, it's "kitschy." Random stories of Florida living, food & drinks, sports and some puppy love.

When and how did you start blogging: 

  

I started blogging initially over a decade ago! I remember being 13 and using Diaryland and Livejournal religiously. As I grew up, old online blogs were abandoned and new ones were created. I've been on Blogger for two years now and for the last year have really been blogging consistently.
What has been your biggest accomplishment since you started blogging:  

I have scored a ton of neat products and have been able to provide a voice for new and striving companies. I think that I'm going to be selfish with my answer though and say that winning Coach Sunglasses for posting a blog about a local optical provider has been a pretty sweet accomplishment!

What did you always want to be when you grew up?  

A teacher and an astronaut. I grew out of that phase and have settled on working at a university.

If you could live off of one beverage for the rest of your life what would it be and why?  

Tricky question! I mean, I'd love to say something like moscato or Bacardi Dragonfruit with Sprite Zero... but that's not entirely healthy... is it? I do love Cherry Coke Zero though.

Who is your favorite actor and why?

I have always liked Vince Vaughn. He is the type of guy that I'm attracted to. Funny and romantic, but he can really have a 'tude on him. =)

Genesis Today: Superfruits To help You Get Healthy! *US Giveaway*

As you all may have heard I am trying to get into shape. Watching what I eat and drink is an important part of living healthy. I came across Genesis Today and was excited about all of the nutrients and antioxidants that their products provided per serving. Genesis Today was were generous enough to send me out a bunch of their products to try! I received the juices, puddings, protein100, and fiber packets! Riley and I immediately started trying each product as soon as they arrived! 

Their juices include Acai Berry, Goji Berry, Resveratrol, and now Veggi Blast! I got to try the first three and they are super yummy! They were very sweet though so I mixed them with water which I actually like because I feel like I get more! It is really nice to be able to find a juice that is healthy for you and includes superfruits to help combat free radicals in the body!

I love that they carry pudding! Who doesn't love chocolate?! I am not a huge fan of dark chocolate though so the puddings weren't for me. My mom,however, loved them! She is a huge dark chocolate fan! I did take a little taste of hers and I think that if I liked dark chocolate they would be stocked in my house. There are two different flavors of pudding, Dark Chocolate Acai and Dark Chocolate Cacao. 


The Protein100 is a liquid that you can add to water and it provides you with protein! I try to get as much protein as possible since it is important in a healthy diet. It is nice to know that this is an option to add more protein!

The 4fiber is a powder that can be mixed with pretty much an food or drink. I sprinkle it on my cereal in the morning. I LOVE that it contains flax seed! I know how important flax is in digestion. I think this is a really nice product for new moms since it is hard to get back on track after having a baby (you all know what I mean!) Genesis Today carries a bunch of awesome supplements that you have to check out! There is something for everyone from digestion to sleep to beauty!


I love Genesis Today products! I actually went out and used my coupons to buy more of the juices! I still have yet to try the Veggie Blast since it just came out, but I'll be picking it up the next trip to the store! Bloggers Against Drunk Driving Pledge To Stay Sober & Alive

Attention Bloggers

The Department of Transportation has asked American bloggers to spotlight the critical importance of staying sober behind the wheel this Independence Day. I am very against drinking and driving as I was almost hit by a drunk driver. Luckily a friend of mine was driving in front of me and saw the driver coming off of the highway directly at me and swerved into him, blocking him from hitting me. The police said that I would have been seriously hurt if the driver had hit me instead. My friend's car was totaled and he had to go to physical therapy for a long time. Think before you drink and drive. You normally will be okay but the person you hit might be killed. They also might have their family in the car or just as bad, be someones mother, father, child or loved one. 

This also goes for all of you that text and drive. It's the same as being drunk. Nothing is that important that you can't pull over or wait until you get home. You probably say it won't happen to you because you know you are safe when you do it but it can happen to anyone.

Clean Green with Earth Friendly Skoy Cloths! *US Giveaway* 2 Winners

We are all looking for greener, more eco friendly ways to clean. Well, here is solution...Skoy Cloth! When I came across Skoy Cloth, I was excited about just how many disposable products they would replace! Skoy Cloth is 100% bio degradable, reusable, and absorbent. They are made from natural cotton and wood-based cellulose pulp and the cute colors and patterns are produced with water based colors and inks. So over all an all-natural product safe for any family!

I normally use sponges for most of my cleaning and I know that they are notorious for bacteria because they never really completely dry but I am just so used to them! A Skoy Cloth can hold 15 times it's own weight but also dry out quickly to avoid a bacteria breeding ground! They seem to be a safer, cleaner alternative to sponges. I recently tossed all of my sponges and replaced them with Skoy Cloths.

I have been using them for about a week now and love how well they clean! You can use Skoy with or without cleaning products but I still use cleaning products just because I am a germaphobe so I feel like I can clean better with product. I did, however, try cleaning without product and they really do a great job! All I do to clean my Skoy is throw them in the dishwasher at the end of the night with my dishes! I haven't noticed that stinky smell that I normally get with sponges which I love!

Skoy Cloth also can replace paper towels! It is estimated that one Skoy Cloth replace 15 rolls of paper towels! Wow! We use them for our hands and best of all we save a lot of money on baby wipes since that is what I use on Riley to clean him up after he's done eating! They are made from all natural materials so I don't have to worry about any nasty chemicals getting on his skin.

My overall experience is great with Skoy! I will be purchasing them again in the future! They are inexpensive at only $6.99 for a 4 pack and last a while so the money saving factor is amazing!

Mommy Thinks: I was really excited to have the chance to review the Arm.ID.illo bandz. I seriously have my kids gripped up whenever we go out and I don't let anyone watch them either. *Stands Up* "Hi! I am Kim and I am a psycho mother!" Even though I like to think that I am a very observant, protective mother, accidents do happen and children will be children. Riley is actually one of the few kids that will hold your hand the whole entire time we are out. He doesn't try to run away, but there is always that chance. I want to make sure I am prepared! That's why I really like the Arm.ID.illo bandz. 

Each arm.ID.illo bandz includes 40 number pupz. The numbers are 0-9 so that you can change them whenever you need to and if you lose any of the pupz you can always purchase additional pupz.

  

We tried the band out a couple of times and I did find some flaws with it, as you would with any product. I think with the Arm.ID.illo bandz it is important to remember to watch small children since the band does contain small pieces which could be choking hazards. Riley managed to chew on one of the pupz and chewed the paint off but I didn't really worry since the Arm.ID.illo bandz are non-toxic and the package comes with extra number pupz. I also found that the larger closer pup irritated his skin a little bit when he was sweating. 

I actually talked on the phone with Anthony from Arm.ID.illo bandz a couple of time and voiced my concern and he had actually said that they were working on making some changes and obviously the Arm.ID.illo bandz is a work in progress, as is every product.

Now you make find some difficulties at first trying to get the Arm.ID.illo bandz on your little one because it is made so it cannot be pulled off by the child. I found that if you size the band on your child's arm and then go up 2-3 holes on the band, it will stretch to easily slip on but won't slip off.

I think that the Arm.ID.illo bandz are a great concept because you can change out the number on the band depending on who has your child. It is important to prepare for situations and this is a huge plus when that situation is a missing child! I think that the pros outweigh the cons tremendously. I also have found that if your child is wearing shorts and is younger it may be safer to put the Arm.ID.illo bandz on their ankle so they don't chew on it. Just make sure that the band stands out against their shoes.
