Guest Blogger: Amanda from My Life with Rats and more...

It's so funny because each week I feature a new blogger, the blogger is either so much like me or completely different! I love it! This week we get to meet Amanda from My Life with Rats and more...! Yes she owns rats! I love rats! They have to be the best pets ever! Seriously! She is so much like myself! I had always said that if I could ever do one HUGE this in this world it would be build a reallllly big animal shelter. That way I could make sure every animal that was ever going to be put down because it didn't have a home could come live with me! She gave me the same answer! We both have a passion for animals and I think that it an amazing quality to have! Also we have the same dog! Well not the same exact dog, but other than a slight color difference they look alike!Before I tell you all about her, I'll let her introduce herself! And here are some cute pictures! The top picture is Amanda's dog Necco and the bottom picture is my dog Jilly!

Please tell us a little about yourself and your family: 

My family is really big. I live with my mom grandparents, cousin, niece and my boyfriend. And I can't forget all of my pets! I have 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 turtles and 20 rats :). My rats are my babies, they are very loved :D.  I moved down here to Florida in 2001 with my grandparents and am so happy me and my mom made the move with them! My grandparents mean the world to me! It's almost like having 2 moms and a dad haha. All of my dogs and cats and turtles were rescues and I am so glad they are all additions to my family.

What is your blog about: 
 

My blog isn't really about one particular thing. I tend to blog a lot about my pets and family, but I do a lot of blog giveaways and reviews. It is really important to me to get my opinion across. When I love something I want everyone to know :). When I find cute things I show them, and I also show some of my art.

When and how did you start blogging?

I started blogging February 20th, 2010. I just took a shot at it. I checked out other great blogs that I loved, came up with my own ideas and here I am. : )

What is one thing you wish you had known when you started blogging: 

Hmm, this is a hard one.  But I guess I would have to say I wish I had known how mean some people could be.  I try to look at everyone in a positive way but when my blog was first starting I had a lot of people trying to take advantage of me.

(I have to jump in here real fast! Amanda is totally right. When you first start blogging people will take advantage of you left and right. Don't let them! I know it's hard but it is OKAY to say no! It is your blog and no one can make you do or write anything!)

If you could purchase any ONE thing in the world, what would it be?

Well, my biggest passion is animals. So I would have to say I would purchase a building so I could make a big animal shelter. That way I could ensure hundreds of animals would be safe and cared for. That to me is a dream and would be a major lifetime accomplishment. 

What is the best vacation you have ever had?

Well I am only 19, so I really haven't been on too many vacations but... When I was 15 I had this magical opportunity and I actually went to Australia and New Zealand. There is this program called People 2 People and threw them I was able to go and it was amazing. I got to go in the Sydney Opera House, I got to snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef, I visited and stayed on the island where they filmed the first Scooby Doo Movie (Tangalooma Island) and I did so much, it was unforgettable and will forever be in my heart.
