Now that it is summer, we are outside more often. Obviously scrapes and cuts are bound to happen. I am always loading on antibiotic ointment whenever we have any type of open would but sometimes infection is bound to set in. I have always heard of staph infections but thought you could only catch it in the hospital or after a major surgery. I was surprised when I found out it can happen to anyone, anywhere.
StaphAseptic First Aid Antiseptic / Pain Relieving Gel was created to help prevent infection which could cause forms of staph infection. It is a greaseless, non-staining gel that doesn't cause stinging or irritation. It contains Lidocaine to provide instant pain relief as well! It is nice to know that their is a simple way to prevent infection so you and your family can have peace of mind.
There are some forms of staph that cannot be killed with typical antibiotics. A type of staph that is resistant to commonly used antibiotics is MRSA. MRSA is short for Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. This form of staph infection is commonly mistaken as spider bites. MRSA can form from skin infections in otherwise healthy people. A skin infection can be something as simple as a pimple! The worse part is that MRSA is contagious through skin to skin contact and contaminated items and surfaces. StaphAseptic is not a cure for MRSA but is a preventative.
There are precautions you can take to avoid MRSA.
"Practice good hygiene including:
- Keep your hands clean
- Treat minor cuts and scrapes with StaphAseptic® First Aid Antiseptic / Pain Relieving Gel
- Keep cuts and scrapes clean and covered with a bandage until healed
- Shower after physical activity
- Properly clean gear and equipment
- Consult your trainer/physician for all active wounds
- Avoid contact with other people's wounds or bandages
- Avoid sharing personal items such as towels or razors"
I was sent StaphAseptic and have been using it on every single open would that any of us have had. I can attest to the pain relief! I am notorious for peeling my cuticles and let me tell you...it hurts. When I used the StaphAseptic on it, the pain did diminish quite quickly. I also noticed that my cuticles healed a lot faster than using nothing on my wound. It is nice to know that I have a product that, not only helps to prevent infection, but also helps relieve pain!
You can also print a $1 off coupon to put towards your purchase of StaphAseptic which can be found in most local drug stores!
