Closing My Blog For A Little While To Go Back To School! :)

I've taken a little time off from doing reviews like crazy to just be with my family and now am heading back to school. I want to head back to work once the kids are in school full time so I need to get a start on that now. So I am closing up shop here for a little bit and figured I would leave a little note. It has been fun while it lasted and I hope to be back one day soon but for right now, I must deal with life :) I hope to keep in touch with all of the friends I have made on here and of course will still be surfing blogs....just not maintaining one for right now. Bye for now!

3 Tips for Making Money From Junk

I have always been one to keep lots of junk that I really don't need. My main reason to have a tendency to "cleanly hoard" is because I hate that I spent money on something and then didn't use it or feel like I wasted money. I'm sure this is a common feeling! Who doesn't wastefully spend sometimes? But lately I've been trying to clear out things because if I haven't used them in years and I doubt I will use them. I think my late watching of Hoarders has made me realize that I would rather one keep what I actually use. Maybe not to the point of minimalist but close!

So I've been researching the easiest ways to make money from junk around your house. I've found quite a few ways. Some of them I've tried out before but am going to start giving another chance and putting more effort. I think regardless of the ways you can use to make money you have to keep a few guidelines.

Here are some tips for selling your stuff online.

Keep your prices low. This is especially important for used items. I am always hoping to get my money back, especially for high priced things that I am selling, but the truth is, people are looking to buy used because they are looking for low prices. If you have over priced items, chances are people are going to look over your items because they aren't attracted to the price. So try to price your items by being an outsider. Would you pay the price that you are posting the item for? If not...reconsider it.
Beautiful, true, photos always sell items better then no picture or blurry, out of focus photos. If you take your time and stage your photos with clean backgrounds, you can potentially make more money and your item will look like it's worth buying. Don't forget to take multiple photos to show different angles and/or flaws.
Use sites that work for you. If you've tried them before, try it again. If they don't work, look for somewhere new. Maybe it's not for you. There are tons of sites to sell your items on. There are sites like Ebay, Music Magpie, and Craigslist. You just have to figure out where you feel the most comfortable at and test out the different options that each site offers and whether you would want to ship items or meet up with buyers.

Once you figure out what is best for you and post your items for a reasonable price that also look clean and professional, you should have no problem making money from the junk laying around your house. Do you have any tips for making money from junk?
